Custom showers
Custom tile showers, built from the studs out
A shower is the hardest-working tile in the house. It has to look right for years and keep water exactly where it belongs.

What we build
Walk-in showers and tub-to-shower conversions in porcelain, natural stone and large-format slab.
- Slab walls — few or no grout lines, like the green onyx shower above.
- Recessed niches sized and placed so their edges land on grout lines, not across the middle of a tile.
- Built-in benches and ledges wrapped in the same material.
- Floors in pebble, penny-round, mosaic or large tile with a linear drain.
The part you don’t see
What decides whether a shower lasts is underneath the tile: the slope of the floor to the drain, the waterproofing behind every wall, and how the niche and valve openings are sealed. That’s where the time goes on a good shower.
Choosing tile for a shower
Porcelain is the low-maintenance choice and now comes in convincing marble, onyx and wood looks. Natural stone is beautiful but needs sealing. Small tiles on the floor give better grip and follow the slope; large tiles on the walls mean fewer grout lines to clean. We’ll give you an honest opinion on what you’re considering.

Questions
How long does a custom tile shower take?
It depends on the size and the tile, and on drying and curing time between stages. We give you a timeline with your quote.
Do you supply the tile, or do I buy it?
Either works. Many customers choose their own tile from a showroom; we can tell you how much to order, check it suits the space, and supply setting materials. Tell us which you prefer when you get in touch.
Can you tile over my existing tile?
Sometimes, but rarely in a shower. Tiling over old tile adds height and hides whatever is wrong underneath. We look at the condition of what’s there and tell you honestly whether it should come out.
